Safety outranks appearance

A possible electrical or structural issue comes before paint or trim.

Active water moves up the list

Moisture can spread damage into finishes, insulation and structure.

Dependencies matter

Fix the leak before the ceiling; correct substrate movement before the flooring.

Bundle only when it makes sense

Combining work can reduce disruption, but unrelated projects do not become priorities just because a contractor is already present.

Safety boundary. General planning information only. Do not open, dismantle or work on hazardous electrical, gas, structural, fire-protection or contaminated-water systems unless you are appropriately qualified and authorized.
